ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY:Do you know who each of those balls represent in Dolores purse?

Its a large ensemble cast and sadly were saying goodbye to some people at the end of this season.

A bit of a wait?

We want to take the time to make every season as exciting as possible.

And we have an enormous challenge going into season 3 with the worlds that were building going forward.

We want to double-check we have the time to do that right.

The question of whos who and what were looking at is something were excited to play with.

Were excited to withhold a little from the audience but … its complicated.

There are no easy yeses in this show.

But theres a big story were telling here so … yeah.

Were very excited about where the third season goes.

Its been a long build-up to get outside the park.

I was surprised you didnt reveal the remaining three park worlds since your characters were leaving anyway.

Readers might also wonder why the neck-scanner didnt register Dolores/Charlotte as a host.

Anything is possible with Ford at the helm.

Is that more or less how we should be interpreting this?Id agree with a lot of that.

They do explicitly say theyre not in the system.

And we do see the ruins of it.

So that does suggest in that scene we are further in the future.

We just love the ability to play in perceptual terms with the hosts being immortal.

If it didnt track for some people, it didnt track.

But look, the first movie that I worked on [Memento] was told backwards, right?

Those are the people were making this show for.

The first season is rooted in Dolores perception of reality that we only understand too late is nonlinear.

Subsequent seasons will be structured in …differentways.

This show is about mortality and immortality and theres never any real saying goodbye.

Elsie, in this case, has underestimated the cravenness of her fellow humans.

You always seem like such an upbeat guy.

Its a fing total disaster.

And every time I turn on the news Im provided with fodder for our discontent.

I think our timing might have been exactly right on.

Listen, Im surrounded by the wonders of the creations of human beings.

But yeah, you turn on the fing news and its a sshow.

Its like we just cant figure these fing things out.

We come back to them again and again.

Wherever we go, there we are.

And we just cant get out of our own fing way.

Much of [dramatic storytelling across the ages] has concerned itself with how will we overcome?

and personal growth and change.

At a certain point you gotta fing call it.

Were not going to fix this s, were not going to figure it out.

But theres an opportunity for thethingsthat replace us to do so.

And thats the dream of every parent, right?

That their child doesnt face the same things they do, that they make better choices?

So you say: At what point does this fix itself?

Or are we just stuck this way?
