Im from Saudi Arabia, so I audition for a lot of Arab characters.
The way her story begins shes with her kids, shes playing soccer, theres a lightness to her.
You get to see Hanin as a human being, as a mother.
Shes smart and strong and complex.
Shes a well-rounded human being and thats very rare when Im auditioning for Arab characters.
That was so exciting to me.
I didnt sleep for like 10 days when I got the call that I got it.
We wanted there to be a deep, full connection with them.
We wanted her leaving not to be because she hates him but because she has to protect her kids.
Shes sacrificing the love of her life and this marriage that has protected her.
There are these beautiful kids, this beautiful house that theyve created.
The children dont think the fathers a monster.Its something that Hanin has to deal with.
Some become monsters and some become mothers who will do anything to protect their kids.
