[Laughs] I do think that in that moment, he at leastbelieveshes being sincere to Judith.
I think she has had an impact on him.
I do think that, at least from his perspective, hes like, Okay.
Heres my big opportunity to get out of here.
What do I do with it?
Well, lets play a little game of what if because its my favorite game in the entire world.
Being a loner in an abandoned factory, its not much fun.
So he heads back to his cell in Alexandria.
Then where does it go from there?
Thats a different kind of story.
Hes kind of a blowhard.
He likes to tell people whats what.
So wed already been thinking like, yeah, theyve abandoned that Sanctuary.
So if hed found all the people, I think he may have wanted to save them.
Lets talk about the introduction of Alphas daughter Lydia.
She alternates between telling lies and the truth, acting scared and strong.
Its a question of whether or not shes trustworthy.
I think theres just some interesting things to see there.
Cassady, our young actress who plays Lydia, shes absolutely fantastic.
I think its something thats interesting in our world is theres not a lot of young people in it.

Its based on some stuff from the comic, but we put our own twist on it.
What happens when these relationships end?
We just wanted to explore that with them.
I think those two, they came into the show together.
They have such a great energy together.
We wrote these little scenes going, I think these will be fun.
And they just bring such humanity and comedy to it.
Its been interesting to see that.
Im looking forward to seeing what you think about that.
I think at the end of the episode you meet the formidable leader of this group.
Because now, anybody whos lived this long into the apocalypse, theyre pretty confident.
It just suddenly makes every interaction going forward very different, very scary.
So thats been a really interesting thing to play with in the back half of the season.
So Im glad that youve enjoyed it.
Im really excited about the story going forward.
