Honestly, I said no to the show three times and it kept coming back around.
I only said no because two of my biggest fears are performing in front of people and singing.
When I heard it was both of those, I said no.

Then after three times, I said, Okay, something here is meant to be.
I grew up fearful, thats who I am.
I dont want to instill that, that if it scares you dont do it.
But how much I grew as a human being through the process!
Lets talk about your choice of costume.
Why did you pick the unicorn?Actually, the unicorn was not one of them.
That is my spirit animal.
Im a unicorn mom, unicorns are magical and can be anything they want to be.
Thats what I venture to show my kids.
They created the unicorn ice queen.
How was that thing to wear?I did say to myself, Why did I choose the unicorn?
It had the least amount of mobility, and I could not see anything.
They literally walked me out on stage and placed me there.
I couldnt see where I was going.
I thought, Oh great, why would I do this?
I cant sing, and now I cant move at all.
Can you talk about your song choices?Fight Song was my song choice.
I sing that with my kids and it speaks to me on a deep leveI.
I remembered that moment with my kids.
This is how little anyone knew.
I didnt know the host or judges until I showed up.
Last week with Margaret Cho, I was like, oh my God, I literally had no idea.
Once we get on set, we have sweatshirts that say Dont talk to me.
We werent allowed to talk to crew members or anything.
It felt so isolated, which was really scary.
Im a people person.
I wanted to share the experience.
Who do you predict?The lion has an amazing voice, she is so talented.
