Jughead becomes a Serpent while the Black Hood tests Betty’s loyalty

He tells her that he wants to cleanse Riverdale of its sinners…and that includes Polly.
And he knows shes at the farm.
If she does, hell kill Polly.
So, working within those guidelines, Betty gets Archie to walk her to school.
Betty swears her bestie to secrecy, and Archie vows not to let her go through this alone.
Speaking of Alice Cooper, the Lodges arent too happy with her latest write-up.
And with them comes Nick St. Clair, Veronicas will-they-wont-they from the Big Apple.
In other words, this is her chance to prove her value to the family company.
Because thats not awkward.
You know, normal teenager stuff.
That is, if he survives the initiation.
Step 1 of initiation?
Yes, the snake bites him.
But considering its had its venom glands removed, its really just a little blood.
So Im not going to lie, joining the Serpents doesnt seemthathard.
But theres still one final trial remaining.
Well get back to that.
Before she handles that, Betty heads to Pops to meet up with Jug.
And for now, thats all they can say.
She tops it off by telling Veronica, Youre a bad person, before leaving the party in tears.
And that means cutting Jughead out of her life.
Hes not worthy of your love, he tells her, which sets off alarm bells in my head.
Is it just me, or does the Black Hood sound A LOT like Alice Cooper??
I realize Alice isnt the one on the phone, but she could be pulling the strings!
(Could it be Hal in the hood?!)
She also tells him that Jug is next.
But seeing as how the Hood hasnt killed anyone since they started talking, she doesnt want to stop.
And with that in mind, she asks Archie if he can break up with Jug for her.
And because hes a good friend I have missed these two!
Suddenly, Archie is more than happy to tell Jug that Betty doesnt want to see him anymore.
(Spoiler: He passes and officially becomes a Serpent.
He also lands a kiss from Toni!)
Betty really is the victim this week.)
Moments later, he ROOFIES CHERYL.
I mean, who IS this guy?!
Honestly, if he had a leather jacket, hed be a Serpent after that beating.
Afterward, everyone gathers around Cheryl, who WILL be pressing charges.
In a moment of panic, she gives him Nick St. Clairs name.
I told you we were the same, he says before hanging up.
Im also on board with the return of Archie and Bettys friendship, and you know what?
I dont hate Jug and Toni.
