Does he see himself as somehow responsible for this?
She exists solely to be brutalized.
On top of that, her murder just sort of happens.
Unceremoniously killing Natalie James is not a great look.
Bob the Builder doesnt linger long on the death of Natalie James.
The episode quickly shifts gears, as we see Doug Landry and Sam Winslow meeting.
That pesky box of evidence sits on Landrys desk as he lays out his blackmail pitch.
He says he knows Winslow hired someone to kill Tom, and now he wants to push her out.
Of course, Ray is no longer taking orders from Winslow.
Its hard to see where all of this is going and why it matters to us.
All of that muddled storytelling comes to a head in the episodes final moment.
Its the only other time we see Winslow in this episode, and shes angry.
She cant believe that Ray disobeyed her orders and mentioned Landry to the LAPD.
Now she feels like she has to clean up the mess, or rather order Ray to do so.
She tells Ray to kill Landry and says shell pay any price to have it done.
It should be a meaningful, explosive moment, but it doesnt feel like it.
Of course theres still plenty of brutality to go around, but the show contrasts that with lighter moments.
The pills he took for his coke-fueled orgy arent wearing off, so Darryl takes him to the hospital.
Mickey shows up at the studio lot to confront his son, but hes turned away by security.
Thats probably for the best though, as Darryl is getting himself in some potentially serious trouble.
When Jay calls him in to talk about the movie, Darryl sees it as an innocent chat.
In fact, Jays lawyers, and the Los Angeles District Attorney, are listening in.
He says that Jay was at fault and that they cant prove anything without a body anyway.
Once Ray has his attacker, he picks up an axe to finish the job.
But when he turns around, the man has a gun pulled on him.
After all theyve been through, its a big moment.
It should signal some sort of redemption for Terry in his brothers eyes, but thats not the case.
He says that nothings changed.
With any luck though, this season is changing its tune just in time for the final few episodes.
