The series famous for giving makeovers is getting one of its own.

A lot has changed in the years since, though.

Its a new time with a new audience, series creator David Collins tells EW.

If the original round was about tolerance, this time it is about acceptance.

These guys walked awaytrulyloving every single hero that they made over and talked about them for weeks afterward.

It affected them just as much as they affected our hero.

Finding the new Fab 5 was a blast, Collins says, but still no easy task.

The result is an eclectic mix of personalities.

Brown, who appeared onThe Real World: Philadelphia, stood out for his charisma and style.

Each one of them is so unique, Collins says proudly.

Not to mention, fabulous.

Storytelling, obviously, is ultimately the topline goal.

Its all about story, always.

Theres a really powerful moment between Karamo and Cory as they discuss relations between police and black communities.

Did you have any idea thats how he was going to react?

The millennials dont remember the old show.

[Laughs] So its those authentic moments that really pay off in this new version ofQueer Eye.

Theres really an ultimate moment: Why not?

And the same with Cory; Cory had such a great experience.

He keeps texting and sending me Instagram messages because he really wants to stay in touch with them.

Its been that; its kinda cool.

Which one of the Fab 5 did you cast first? The casting was a blast.

Each one of them is so unique.

Hes so proud of being himself and hes so confident in himself because he really battled that.

He was the middle-of-nowhere kid who really grew up getting bullied hard.

[Laughs] And hes kinda funny too… just cracking you up at every turn.

Karamo is just the epitome of style and taste and class.

Hes so charismatic, he pulls you right in, smart as a whip.

Its really a beautiful gift of his.

Tan… style and class… he is the full picture there.

His sense of posh is just beautiful.

Hes also got that edge to him.

Tans got the same thing; hes smart and witty, but always classy.

Hes a hard worker, hes a really hard worker, and he brought that to the table.

And then, Mr. Antoni.

Hes just so filled with passion and hes scarily smart.

He was actually Ted [Allen]s protege.

Ted sent him our way and we couldnt be happier.

Hes got that adorable face and you just want to squeeze his little head off.

I cant say no because who knows, maybe we will do something where they all come together.

The Fab 10, as they are, have all really bonded beautifully.

Queer Eyewill debut on Netflix in February.
