Let’s start withDietland, which is based on the 2015 Sarai Walker novel.

What was it about this story that intrigued you?

I just loved how subversive and sneaky a story it is.

We really lean into the weird.

Joy Nash is a fantastic actress to go on this journey with.

Isn’t she a fing revelation?

She is very, very special.

Your other lead actress right now is Amy Adams.

AsSharp Objects' Camille, she is somehow grittier than we’ve ever seen her.

It’s counterprograming, and it creates all this great internal confusion because Amy is this ray of light.

I had readSharp Objectswhile I was going through my divorce.

I was going through a lot of dark stuff.

After picking up the book, I just couldn’t shake her.

Anger really is the theme for bothSharp ObjectsandDietland.
