This years parade brings a host of new balloons, the parades most famous and unique feature.
Its not just any character.
Its characters that people are longing to see.

We have a lot of balloons that come back year after year that people get excited about as well.
She notes that she hopes the anticipation for Goku will bring many new viewers to the parade.
Its really exciting to see him come to life, and hes really representative of that cartoon character.

Hes an action character, and he looks like a cartoon come to life in balloon form.
Its really kitschy, but its really fun.
Shes absolutely an icon.
I think the last time she was in it was, it may have been in the 1970s.
Another highlight of the parade is a selection of performances from some of the best of Broadway.
They typically like to see a show that they know and love likeMy Fair Lady.
But then you have shows that are really relevant that are new to Broadway, likeMean Girls.
Tercero says the Rockettes have been with the parade for around 50 years.
They were a staple in new York.
The parade has always been about spectacle and performance, she says.
We like to try and think about how we can utilize new technology for all of this.
Its really trying to figure out how we meet the needs of the audience.
The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade airs at 9 a.m. on NBC.
