The Devils work is never over.
Thankfully, by the end of the season, he was able to reconcile these two sides.

And this leads to one of the series most heartbreaking and highly anticipated moments.
I love you, Chloe tearfully says.
c’mon dont leave.

See, we were wrong about something else in the the prophecy.
My first love was never Eve.
It was you Chloe.
That was a given.
We actually went back and forth on the I love you.
We knew wanted her to express that someway, whether or not she said those three little words.
If you watch again, Lucifer doesnt actually say the actual words.
For this whole show, weve had Lucifer in therapy.
If Lucifer has an epiphany, is that it?
One of the things we realized is that it just opened up all new story.
It forced him to go, Ive grown past that.
Ive become something else, something more.
Then by the end, really realizing that, Yes, that is me, that dark side.
But Im also the light side.
Im both those things, and I have to embrace both sides of me.
And the dark side is actually pretty useful sometimes.
Chloes proud of him in that moment.
Hes used his bad, if you will, for good.
Thats kind of the big win of the end of the season.
We dont necessarily know if he has the devil face in that moment, but thats the balance.
Hes got angel wings but hes sitting on the throne of hell.
Lucifer is both, as Ildy was saying, lightness and darkness.
He is both good and bad, or at least all of us have that inside of us.
Ildy actually gave me a bunch of notes on it.
Let him find it on his own.
You cant tell someone how to fell, they have to find it.
Ildy, you wrote the finale.
I was giddy with excitement through the whole thing.
I learned the dance along with the cast, so did Joe [laughs].
We sort of held the best, or at least our favorite thing, for last.
We were drinking champagne, we were dancing, it was so much fun!
Oh my god, [Kevin Alejandro] flying through the air!
The whole thing was just us being silly, and it turned out so well!
It exceeded my expectations.
Thats just one of my favorite moments in the whole show really.
You see it in his eyes; its almost enough.
Laurel made the entire room cry when she read that final scene.MODROVICH:Yes, she did!
This is absolutely her season.
The depth of emotion she managed to hit, every single side is so much fun to watch.
She just really brought it.
I wanted it to be almostInception-like, in that its curling back around on you hell from every side.
Then, Joe was like, Dude, weve seen hell.
Weve also seen it from this angle.
So, we pulled those images back and we just built on that.
It did end up being more grand and more claustrophobic in a way because of its infinity.
Feeling like it just went on forever and ever and ever was the most terrifying part of it.
We knew we wanted this precarious-looking spire that came up.
Yertle the Turtle in hell is my pull quote.
As you’ve got the option to see in the season, shes absolutely fantastic.
My hope is, in whatever way, thats not the last youve seen of Eve.MODROVICH:Good answer.
We did spend some time digging into what we think can be season 5.
We do have an idea.
Woo, thats good!
Hes so effortless that you forget, but my god, we are so lucky to have him.
And I leave Lauren out because we already highlighted her earlier.
I do think this is Laurens season.
The complete fourth season is available on Netflix now.
