Although we explore politics on songs like Walk on Water, its not a political album per se.

Its social; its highly personal.

Its also one of those words that is highly interpretive.

You ask 10 different people, you get 10 different responses.

It could be the most beautiful word to someone or the ugliest to another.

I like it in that respect.

They can be funny.

But as a collective whole, they feel like a time capsule to me.

It feels like something youd see in a gallery but it also feels like advertising.

Certainly that is in the album, but thats not it.

Theres more there as well.

Youll get a sense of who we are as a people, as a nation.

Its been five years since the bands last album.

Thats the longest gap youve ever had why so long?Ive never been very fast.

I wish I was.

I envy people who put an album out every year.

Im just really slow and methodical.

I think art, and creativity in general, has its own rules.

Its not polite, its not timely, its not considerate.

It wakes you up in the middle of the night or keeps you up until the crack of dawn.

You also collaborated with Halsey and Zedd.

I really respect him a lot.

Hes a lot of fun to work with and he did incredible work on the track.

Hes just an immensely talented person, and we feel really lucky to have him on One Track Mind.

Halsey feels the same.

I think really highly of her.

Shes absolutely one of a kind.

Shes brave and bold and talented beyond belief.

Youre known for bringing a high level of intensity to acting.

I like to work really hard.

Thats been a really consistent component of my life for as long as I can remember.

Im a curious person.

I love to learn.

I love the independence that comes along with being entrepreneurial, whether its starting a band or a company.

But I dont know if I even have the answer to this question.

I just work as hard as I can because I think thats my job.

I think people deserve the best that I can do.

If I have to kill myself to do it, then thats what I do.

That being said, making this album was a lot of fun.

We pushed really hard.

We recorded all over the world.

Its a little heady but thats my answer.
