Amelia undergoes brain surgery

The quintessential scene for any TV character with cancer seems to be the head-shaving one.

We watch as Owen gets chastised by Megan for avoiding the operation.

We get it; Italians are sexy!

Amelia keeps responding to what theyre saying, but they are not hearing her.

Oh, crap, am I gorked?

we hear Amelia ask herself.

Really, isnt that what weve been wondering about her for a while now?

He kept trying to tell the medical team working on him that he was in pain.

And for a good part of this episode, Amelia has the same issue.

We get frustrated as she keeps trying to connect with Meredith, but fails.

The parallel is both eerie and brilliant.

Props to Shonda and the episodes writer, Marlana Hope.

Bro has got to go.

Wasting no time whatsoever, Alex asks Jackson how much money his grandfather left him.

Did they just back up a truck of silver spoons?

Rightfully ignoring him, Jackson asks Meredith why she paged him.

Turns out shes trying to publish Megan Hunts surgery, which might be eligible for a Harper Avery Award.

But, she wants to remove Jacksons name from the article to make it ensure its eligibility.

Megan asks Meredith if shes heard from Nathan and after saying no, Meredith asks Megan the same.

Each says they sent him to the other before laughing about breaking his brain.

This is probably the strangestGreystriangle yet, and thats saying something.

She lets it slide to voicemail, though, because DeLuca pages them all: Amelia is finally speaking!

Sacre bleu, though, cause Amelia is only speaking in French.

Turns out all the Shepherd children went to French preschool.

Apparently this isnt a weird phenomenon after brain surgery, though.

What is a surprise, however, is Maggie being able to understand her.

Meredith convinces her to not make any rash decisions and tells her how she once kidnapped her own daughter.

That Megan trusts Meredith after all she keeps revealing is just incredible.

(Recap continues on page 2)

April is still sad about her situation with Jackson.

She tells Arizona how shes not used to not having Harriet every night.

Spoiler alert: We find out in the end of the episode that Sofia wants to move home!

Nathan keeps trying to get in touch with Meredith, but Meredith keeps sending him to voicemail.

Thankfully, the next scene shows Amelia saying, I know Dereks dead, as shes getting another MRI.

Finally Meredith takes Nathans call, and it turns out he flew to get Farouk!

Hes now trying to get the boy into the U.S. on a medical visa.

This is his grand gesture for Megan, and he just needed Meredith to answer her damn phone.

Turns out hes getting a quarter of a billion dollars, but he doesnt want it.

Clearly hes forgetting how much itll likely cost to send Harriet to college.

They keep testing Amelia and even asking her if she knows who the president is.

Amelia answers, I wish I didnt.

Its clear that Amelia is coming through her surgery well, even if she doesnt believe it herself.

Bailey and Webber, meanwhile, are still interviewing candidates.

While amusing, its hard to see any of these candidates making it into the surgical rotation.

Jo asks Meredith to take her name off the article, and Meredith agrees.

When Ben overhears, he presses her on it.

She explains that she doesnt want her husband to find her.

He tells her that hes training for something that Bailey wont like.

Hes going to be the crossover for the ShondalandGreys Anatomyfirefighter spin-off.

Farouk finally gets to Grey Sloan, and Megan is elated to see him.

Megan, however, is still not convinced Nathan isnt in love with her.

Will things work out for them?

But, its good to see them try.

For better or worse, indeed.
