It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of actor Carmine Caridi.
His talent, wit, warmth, and charm will be missed.
Carmine passed peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, yesterday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

TMZ, which first reported the news, notes Caridi was hospitalized after a fall.
Evans, however, thought he was too tall for the role and it eventually went to James Caan.
Caridi then appeared inThe Godfather: Part IIIas Albert Volpe, one of Michael Corleones casino investors.
The actor will appear posthumously in an episode of HBOsCurb Your Enthusiasm.
