There are giants of acting in this room tonight.
Two of them share my table, Geoffrey Rush and Richard Jenkins.
But at some point the intellectual side of it has to stop, he said.
You have to take all that and metabolize it and make it into a living, breathing person.
The big help to me was the footage of him at this time.
The revelation to me was just the energy and the dynamism of him.
He also spoke about keeping his win in perspective, and he reflected on his 35-year acting career.
I have been truly very lucky and very blessed, Oldman said.
Its had its ups and downs.
Its been quite a remarkable journey.
You got to really earn your dues, put the work in.
… You have your moment in the sun.
Theres no guarantee youre going to keep working.
God forbid, I could get sick.
I could get hit by a car.
We have to die, but theres no guarantee that were going to get tomorrow.
