It sounds like something that is much longer and deeper.
But at the beginning, it wasnt at all planned like this.
What were those early conversations like with Amit and Galit?

How easy or difficult was it to get them to agree to this documentary?It was not easy.
The beginning was coming over without the camera and just being there.
And Amit really wanted to share with Ofir, and also Galit, and see what was in Thailand.
There was somebody half outside, half inside that they can talk to.
This was shot in a very minimal way.
When their friends stopped coming home and stopped visiting them, they were really excluded.
Now, after this, the kids really feel like, Oh, were probably being famous!
This kind of attention helped them in the process.
What is the familys outlook now that the documentary has been making the rounds?
Its in Los Angeles, and its coming to New York.
I saw that Amit did a few interviews during the press tour.Theyre very happy and proud with the film.
It was a realism.
So the kids were so involved and are really, really great.
And, lets say the Levitical court, theres no way to film inside.
But the camera couldnt go in, so that was the solution.
What is the message of my film?
I feel its also the personality of Ofir.
I read it took about three years or so for the film to completely come together.
Then later on we got Film Fund, but that was at a later stage.
They wanted very much to end with them staying together.
I think the distribution opened up also after winning the international documentary film festival in Israel.
Or even now as youre looking back on it?Of course, very much.
Coming to the states shortly after Trumps decision to narrow down the rights, it was very important.
