In 240 B.C., Eratosthenes used trigonometry and measuring shadows to estimate the Earths circumference.
The explorer Ferdinand Magellan returned from circumnavigating the globe in 1522.

But so much of what people say is so frustrating!

Shaming someone doesnt change the way they feel about something.
In fact, it probably just reinforces it and they become more entrenched in their belief.
I think its probably idealistic, because some people arent to listen necessarily.
