Our original press release did state this.
Were not using any Bowie music, producer Paul Van Carter further clarified over the phone to EW.
We always knew that we werent going to.
Instead, theyre using using music from the period.
Through a spokesperson, the Bowie estate declined to comment at this time.
Its not a big-budget musical biopic likeBohemian Rhapsody, Van Carter noted.
This isnt trying to be that film.
Bowiediedthree years ago on Jan. 10, 2016 at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer.
