This week sees continued fallout from Brees assault and Lizzies rash assumptions that Roger was the perpetrator. Jamie knows what happened to Bree, and she fears it will make him think less of her. They immediately fear the governor won’t grant Murtagh a fair trial and he’ll be hung. They resolve to get him back somehow. The news takes her off-guard, but she wants to know if rape can be added to his charges....

Murtagh has to return to his forge to pay his taxes though. He’s sent men from the regulator camp to petition the governor for lower taxes....

They seem to have settled into life there nicely and established a fragile peace with the local native tribes. He saw it in a dream and kissed his daughter there. Claire and Jamies troubles in America continue as they finally arrive atRiver Run, Jamies Aunt Jocastas plantation. Jamie is also concerned about being broke after Bonnet stole their gemstones. Ian and his dog Rollo quickly get into trouble when they meet the wrong end of a skunk....
